Old American Political Parties Paper Students must find two academic articles about two early American political parties. (Examples of these parties are Greenback, Populist, Black and Tan, Whigs, Democrat-Republican). These articles will be found from academic journals. Students may find academic journals from the JSTOR server as well as other academic servers such as EBSCO (found in the SanJac Blackboard library). In addition to the academic sources, students may also site congressional speeches, non-fiction books, biographies, autobiographies or laws on this topic. No blogs, opinion articles, or Wikipedia articles are permitted. Newspapers are discouraged. Students must accurately quote sources. Papers must be 3-6 pages long and at least threesources must be used in the paper. Compare and Contrast three party platform planks (official party stances on policy) between these parties. Only in the conclusion students may submit an opinion. As in all academic papers, this paper must be written in third person point of view.
