Water pollution in the USA

Directions: You will have 8- 10 minutes to present a persuasive speech to your classmates on a topic of your choosing. This topic must be directly related to the topic of the course this semester. The content must present a controversial issue or problem and offer a viable solution. The speech must employ academic research. A speech outline and bibliography including 5-7 sources must be included. I cannot determine if 5 pages is enough. It may need to be adjusted to reach the time.

The Topic is Water Pollution in the USA. There is one reference attached that needs to be used along with 4 more scholarly peer reviewed references. Be sure to really grab the readers attention in the beginning of the speech.

Content: The speech must include the following parts:

1. Introduction – Introduce the topic to the audience. Define and explain the topic. Relate it to at least one general education outcome.
2. Thesis – State your argument about that topic
3. Body – Explain how/why your perspective on the topic is correct; present possible solutions to the problem of the topic. The information presented must be research based and cited either verbally or on your slides.
4. Conclusion – The speech should conclude with a summary that reminds the audience of the topic and solution. That summary should also relate the problem back to general education and the outcome chosen.
