Reconsideration letter for the Navy Officer Board

Please keep the format the way it is. The purpose of this letter is to highlight anything I have done in my military and civilian career which is already included. I would like this paper to be edited so that the Officers who are reviewing this letter, have no choice but to accept me after reviewing this paper. I am looking for the wow factor.

Subj:  LETTER OF RECONSIDERATION DCO MA2 ROMELLO K. RAAGAS

1. Since the convening of the Supply Board in June 2020, I have achieved significant milestones in my civilian and military career. In my civilian career, I have accepted a position as a Federal Contractor through Grant Thornton, LLP. I will be auditing clients in the Public Sector which includes entities such as the Social Security Administration and the Department of Defense pending clearance authorization. Furthermore, I have accepted a board position with the Rotaract Club at the St John’s Town Center in Jacksonville, FL. The Rotaract organization believes in service above self and I have contributed to that message by volunteering at some service events which include food pantries and planting resources to feed the local Jacksonville community. In addition, I have connected fellow Rotarians with professionals in the Jacksonville community for employment and networking opportunities.
2. With my military career, I have earned the trust and responsibility of handling critical tasks within my unit. The Chief and LPO of my unit have appointed me to take charge of the unit’s Ops report which involves the recording keeping of every Sailor’s qualifications for the Training department. This is an important task as this report is reviewed and submitted by the CO to region for a determination of our operational readiness. Because of my contribution, my unit received the highest score during the FEP inspection of FY 20. Succinctly, as a collateral duty, I have also volunteered to join the Operational department and collaborate with the Training department to ensure our cross assigned members are mission ready as they account for sixty percent of our numbers.
3. I believe I am ready to make a positive impact in sailors’ lives and the responsibility of becoming a Naval Officer. Thank you again for your time in reviewing my reconsideration letter. I look forward to one day carry the title, Mustang.
