This final paper allows students to reflect on the program as a whole and their knowledge, skills, and attitudes in clinical systems leadership.
This paper consists of three parts:
Educational Journey ~3 pages
Achievement of Program Outcomes ~3 pages
Conclusion ~1 page
The paper should be written in APA format and include a title and reference page. The total length of the paper should be 7 pages, excluding the title and reference page.
I. Educational Journey (Parts A and B)
Suggested length for this section of the paper – both A and B combined – is 3 pages. No references are required for the Leadership Style, and Vision for the Future sections. The first section of the paper is composed of two parts:
Personal Goals, Highlights and References:
Describe your goals at the beginning of the program. Did you achieve these goals as you journeyed through the program or did your goals change? At the beginning of the program, my goals were to learn how to be a better leader based on several challenging experiences that I previously had with leadership that was attributing to my feeling let down, frustrated and helpless from making the decision to be a registered nurse. I was not sure how to go about this, but once I began this educational journey, my thoughts and goals became more clear and evolved throughout the program. First, for example, my goal was to learn how to identify my own leadership style. Second, my goal after learning my leadership style was to effectively work in collaboration with a diverse team of other medical professionals who have a variety of values, skills, perspectives, knowledge and experiences. 3.) Apply learned leadership style to inspire other teammates and those that I may lead and manage tp be their best in order to deliver excellent, effective patient care 4.) Enhance knowledge and application of technology in healthcare
What were the highlights of your educational journey in becoming a clinical systems leader?
1.) Learning from other leaders whether from professors, classmates or through learning materials that either validated my ideas or helped me develop new ones.
2.) Being encouraged to reflect upon previous experiences in my career and achieving satisfaction in growing from those experiences with a renewed sense of self and healthcare environments.
3.) Learning how to research evidence-based studies in order to develop and formulate informed opinions and strategies.
4.) Gaining the confidence to balance work, personal life and school. I worked full time for the first year and then part time thereafter after suffering a back injury transferring a patient. Also, I lost my best friend and partner to a tragic death that I witnessed during the second class during this curriculum, and I have suffered from PTSD throughout, often not knowing if I would be able to complete assignments, taking longer to finish my work due to grief and distraction. However, I kept going. There were times where I did not think that I could continue to have the passion for life, let alone study any further regarding anything related to healthcare. Additionally, there have been other personal illnesses and great struggles that have come along the way. I have learned more about perseverance and strength to push myself and succeed more than I ever thought I could. I am grateful that I kept going and look forward to helping those that have experienced challenges similar to mine.

II. Program Outcomes
Write one summary paragraph for each of the RN – MSN Program Outcomes listed below, clearly describing your understanding of the outcomes and how you achieved them. In addition, describe how you have applied each outcome in your professional life:
