1. Selection and application of theory

a. Select a theory that is relevant for the explanation of your concept. You may select any theory from the texts or you may want to search CINAHL, Medline, or Google Scholar to see which available theories relate to your concept. (2 points)

b. Briefly describe the theory so an intelligent lay reader can understand it. (4 points)

c. What are the major concepts of this theory and how do they relate to your specific concept? (4 points)

d. What insights does this theory provide for analysis of your concept? (3 points)

e. Cite at least two sources for this theory, in APA format. This assignment should span a minimum of two double-spaced page. (3 points)

2. Literature review

a. The idea here is to write a synopsis of current healthcare policy affecting your identified concept and/or the identified population. There should be a clear relationship between the healthcare policy, concept, and population. This section is not meant to be comprehensive as such but must be scholarly, about the topic, and to the point. (15 points)

b. Use at least four professional sources you have not previously used. In the final assignment, when you put all the sections together, you will have additional sources in your literature review. (8 points)
