Instructions: Identify a social issue from the suggested list below, or one of your own choice.

State why you think this issue is a social problem. Read at least three scholars’ writings on the issue you choose. Summarize their work into your own words, do not copy their words, and state their positions on the issue. Do you agree with their conclusions? What would you suggest to alleviate the issue?

Bibliography: On the last page list your three references (scholars) and their work which you read to prepare your paper. Use the form: Author’s name, “title of article in quotation marks”, title of book underlined, publisher, year of publication for each scholar.

If you used other sources of information for your paper, list the person’s name and where you got the information you used. Please number the reference in the text of your paper and use the same number in your reference section on the last page.
