At the constitutional convention, steps were taken to make sure that no one national government institution (Congress, President, Federal Courts) would be able to operate without the other institutions being able to check their power. This was supposed to bring balance to their national government so that no one person or group of people would be able to seize control of the government and have undue influence over it. As discussed in the Barbour textbook, describe in some detail, the ways in which Congress is able to limit the power of the president? How might these processes be used in a way the tries to harm the president’s ability to carry out his duties as president?
