Argentina’s Revolutionary Movement (the dirty war)

Drawing on the films, readings, and independent research, your paper should explore a major aspect of a revolutionary struggle in Latin America. You’ll have the chance to identify distinctive or unique characteristics of this revolution as well as characteristics that it shares with other movements. Consider one or more of the following issues: –the character of the pre-revolutionary state and society;  –sources of popular discontent, and how discontent got transformed into political mobilization;  –geopolitical characteristics and the historical timing of uprisings;  –the social bases of revolutionary leaders and followers (class, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.);  –the values, ideologies and cultural constructions that shaped the movement and the alliances that emerged;  –strategies used by revolutionary leaders to create new national myths and foster social transformation;  –the alliances and coalitions formed in opposition to revolution;  –resources and tactics deployed by counterrevolutionary forces, and their consequences for the revolutionary project;  –the impact of the international context on the outcome of this struggle;  –competing explanations for the success or failure of this revolution.     Using your newly acquired knowledge of Latin American film, you should be able to discuss the contributions that leading filmmakers made to the interpretation of the revolution that you decide to examine.  PLEASE review the documents I have attached! This paper also needs atleast 3 films as sources/included in the research: those films are: Night of the Pencils (La Noche de los Lapices), La Historia Oficial (The Official Story), and Kamchatka.
