Your news story may come from any credible news source such as a state or national news paper or news station. In the initial post, students will do the following: Briefly describe the news story and identify the human services problem. Discuss what community is affected by this problem and who are the people who experience it the most (i.e. males, females, age group(s), socioeconomic group(s), racial/ethnic group(s), etc.). Discuss the problem from the perspective of the community/people affected and compare that to how it is portrayed in the media. Discuss if there was a resolution to the problem – if so, what was it and, in your opinion, was it the right resolution – why or why not? If the problem has not been resolved, what kind of resolution do you think needs to happen and why?
