CW1 Project Work in a group to investigate initiatives in Education for Sustainability, including: • The evolving nature of the thinking behind global sustainability in general. • The evolving nature of the thinking behind Education for Sustainability. • The evolving nature of practice in Education for Sustainability. • Compare and contrast the influence of key stakeholders, from individuals to global organisations. The investigation should include publications and initiatives which are: • led by academics, governments, non-government organisations (NGOs), recognised charities and influential campaigners in the field of education or sustainability. • include past, present and planned initiatives or publications • address local, national and international aspects of education and sustainability • Investigation should embrace connections with relevant stakeholders in Education outside the university, including national and international connections Work collaboratively and professionally with your designated peers, sharing the task workload to: • make structured plans to identify and investigate developments in Education for Sustainability • identify influential publications and important influencers, both nationally and globally • identify opportunities for further research or investigation to develop understanding of the subject and make plans to complete an investigation • engage with stakeholders, influencers and peers within and outside the University to share knowledge and compare thinking and practices • analyse the effectiveness of past initiatives in Education for Sustainability around the world • analyse the reasoning behind current and future initiatives in Education for Sustainability around the world Prepare a report on the group findings (individually): • drawing on a portfolio of evidence from the group project, from your own findings and personal reflective progress reviews against the assignment brief (include relevant shared group work content as an appendix, file size permitting – outside the word count) • to explain current viewpoints on what Education for Sustainability is and why it is important, drawing on references from academics and key international influencers • to explain the direction Education for Sustainability is moving, drawing on references from academics and key international influencers • to compare and contrast the impact of different stakeholders, including both academic and political/social influencers (organisations and individuals). The report should be written in the third person.
