Diagnosing Psychological Disorders

Description

Choose one of the mental disorders you learned about in this module. Think of a fictional character who you

think might fit, at least to some extent, that type of disorder. Consider cartoon characters, Disney princesses,
favorite sitcom characters, etc.  (Here are th mental disorders that we went over: anxiety disorder, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, disspciative disorder, personality
disorder, trauma and dtress related disorder, sleep-wake disorders, substance and addicive disorders, feeding and eating disorder, paraphilic disorder, sexual dysfunction, gender dysphoria, neurodevelopmental disorder, somatic sympton, and elimination disorder)
The paper can be related to either of these disorders.
I did a little search on people on TV that displayed one of these disorders and this is what I found: Andre Lyon on Empire was dipolar, Alice from Alice and the Wonderland was schizophrenia, Elsa from Frozen had major depressive disorder, Malificent had borderline personality disorder, and Ariel from the Little Mermaid had obsessive compulsive disorder. The TV character does not have to be either one of them. Here are just a few options if needed.

Research the disorder along with appropriate treatment methods to write up a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Conduct research about the disorder and treatment methods to write up a diagnosis and treatment plan. It is

recommended that you conduct research through our Online Library (Link will open in new tab.) or use a scholarly internet search.

Wikipedia is not allowed and you will need to include at least two different credible sources

Step 3. Write and Reflect.

In a 2-4 page paper, explain which disorder the character may have, describe the disorder, then provide at least three evidence examples of how or why that character meets the description of the mental illness. Identify treatment methods that are available for this disorder and develop a treatment plan for this character.

Your assignment should be in a Word document, written in APA format (12-point font, double spaced), and supported by research and in-text citations.
