Critical discourse analysis on UNSC policies in Yemen

Description

Subject is a mix of scoiology and political science.

-I am assigned with conducting a critical discourse analysis (Fairclough) of UNSC policies (UNSCR) in Yemen.  Using David Moss’s policy theory and a realist theory as a lens.

Theme: The gap between the UNSC policies (resolutions) to what they are actually doing aka good intentions vs reality

Loose guiding Question: How can we explain the gap between the policies and what has actually been done through policy theory and realism? → good intentions vs reality

-Please find phrases/words within these resolutions (policies) and conduct a critical discourse analysis.

Loose directions:

-what are the discourses that frame the UNSC policies to Yemen BUT then how are they actually implemented?

-Not so much on what the actual policies are about but how they “frame” (with words) the approach to Yemen policy wise → what are the goals ? Do the goals succeed? Why not? through a cda

-Resolutions (Policies to use, please use all three if possible)
