Description

What would you prescribe and why? What microbes are you treating? Include instructions/education you would provide when prescribing.  Prescriptions must contain the following information:

Name/Weight/Allergies

Name of medication (concentration)

Sig: Amount/Route/Frequency

mg/kg/dose if applicable

Citation of which reference was used.

Example:

This is a clinical assignment and is a pass/fail.  Students are expected to pass with 80%.

Prescription Cases (Please complete all)

1) 15 y.o. female diagnosed with moderate acne mixed comodonal and inflammatory acne.

2) 8-year-old male dx with scabies.

3) 4 y.o. female with AOM. Attends day care. First incident of AOM (13kg)

4) 7 y.o female with uncomplicated UTI, afebrile (30 kg)

5) 10-month-old with moderate eczema. Not sleeping well at night d/t pruritus. Chronic pruritic disease. The itch that rashes. (8kg)

6) 5-year-old with strep throat (19 kg)

7) 9-year-old with severe ABRS; had antibiotics one month ago for AOM (25 kg)

8) 3 y.o. with croup, mild, no stridor at rest (13 kg)

9) 7-year-old with presumed atypical CAP. Likely pathogen? (26 kg)

10) 8 y.o. diagnosed with moderate persistent asthma. Needs rescue inhaler and preventative medication. What would you prescribe. Include directions and education that you would provide the family (22 kg).
