Find a source that is making an argument that you find interesting. (This will be your main source for the paper.) This source can be one of the readings from Graff, or it can be a source you find on your own. Your paper will be a response to this source. You will summarize the argument of the source and make responses to that argument. Your responses will be supported with further research. In the end of the paper, you will show how your understanding of the source’s argument has changed. Do you agree with it more or less than you did when you first read it? Do you disagree with it more or less than you did when you first read it?
ARGUMENT TOPIC + SOURCES DISCUSSION (due Tuesday, May 25 by 11:59 pm).
Discussion is in this module (Module 13).
(1) Describe the controversy you want to write about.
(2) Tell me three sources you have found so far.
(3) Tell me which of these sources will be your main source.
You can use sources you used in your Summary Paper, but you can’t use the same sentences or paragraph: you have to write a whole new paragraph for this paper.
For each source, give me an author name (if available), web page/article title, and web site/periodical title.
For the Topic + Sources Discussion, there are no format requirements.
APA format is required for the Argument Draft & Paper.
Grade will be part of the Activities grade for the quarter.

Write a paper with the following outline:
One paragraph that shows the reader what is interesting and important about the controversy the main source argument is involved in. You can describe the conversation that the main source is participating in. At the end of the introduction, tell the reader what the overall claim that your paper will be making.
Main Source Summary
One paragraph that summarizes the argument of your main source.
At least three paragraphs that respond to different points in the main source argument. These can be points you agree with or points you disagree with. Each of the response paragraphs will support your response with information from at least one additional source.
One or two paragraphs that show how your understanding of the main source’s argument has changed after your responses. You can consider the following questions: what do you want the reader to think after you’ve shown them your responses and your further sources? Is the main source argument stronger than it was before? Weaker? Is it more complicated? This section should refer back to the points made in the previous paragraphs, but not in a repetitious way. This section also needs to refer back to the main source with an APA in-text citation.
Three sources minimum (one main source and at least two additional sources).
Note: Take a picture with your phone of any non-internet sources you use to class and message or email it to me.
You can use “I” in all paragraphs except the main source summary paragraph.
