The assignment consists of answering the following questions based on the learning outcomes spreadsheet I have provided. All in-depth instructions are available in the “ELO assignment file”

Data Questions:

  1. Identify subgroup students with * (and explain how/why subgroup was chosen).

The subgroup for this assignment is monolingual students, those come from an English only house hold and who’s kinder year was there first time being exposed to Spanish. (ps. Our class is part of a dual-language immersion program, meaning all academics is taught in Spanish)

  1. Provide brief rationale for subgroup identification including the common variable that impacts student achievement.
  2. Explain grading approach (points, proficiency-based, etc.)

  1. List the Learning Objectives/Learning Targets for your chosen unit of instruction and explain how the assessment was aligned to these learning objectives/targets.  What were you able to learn from the assessment about your students’ knowledge both pre and post?
  2. Analysis of data change: Summarize your analysis of the data including change from pre-assessment to post-test for the whole class and your subgroup.
  3. Impact of instruction: How did specific instructional strategies impact student achievement? What additional factors might have impacted low/high student achievement?
  4. Differentiated instruction: What specific instructional strategies were used to differentiate instruction for the subgroup or groups of students within the classroom?
  5. Equitable learning: How did you ensure equitable learning for every learner?  How did you consider and apply what you have learned about culturally responsive teaching and meeting the needs of diverse learners?
  6. Datadriven teaching: What changes will you make when teaching similar content again in the future? How will this experience using data-driven teaching influence your instruction in the future?
