Discussion Overview

Co-Occurring disorders include patients who suffer from a Substance Use Disorder alongside another mental health diagnosis. The Substance Use Disorder does not cause the mental health disorder, thought the two may be intertwined. The individuals Substance Use Disorder could cause a medical condition, exacerbate a medical condition or/and increase the individual’s risk of exposure to certain diseases.
