Description

1. Choose a policy statement or a pending piece of legislation you would advocate for within your community.
   • Find a policy statement on the Policy Statements and Letters (Links to an external site.) page or find a piece of pending legislation found on a state or federal website.
   • If you live outside the U.S., look for pending legislation in the country where you reside.
2. Answer the following questions in a Word document:
   1. Name of the policy or health-related piece of legislation.
      • Provide the official name, bill number (if a bill), and a link to the pending legislation or the policy statement.
      • In what legal jurisdiction does the bill or policy belong?
   2. Provide a summary of the main points of the bill or policy.
   3. What organizations or person(s) support and oppose the policy or legislation; include links if available.
   4. Why did you select this policy statement or pending legislation and why is it important to you?
   5. If the policy or legislation you selected were to be adopted, how would health be impacted?
