Reaction Paper #2 – Article from Journal of Higher Education, Review of Higher Education, Journal of College Student Development, Journal of Student Affairs Research & Practice, NASPA Journal, or Research in Higher Education.
These two papers are intended to (1) introduce you to the literature of higher education, (2) acquaint you with some of the issues in or related to higher education governance, (3) give you practice in developing and communicating thoughtful reactions to what you read in the literature, and (4) help you make connections between theory/research and current realities of governance and organization.
Your task is to find a major article that interests you and is relevant to the course, read and reflect on it, and write a short (3-5 page) paper which briefly summarizes the article and communicates a thoughtful reaction to it.
NOTE: it is not enough to merely say something is interesting or that you agree or disagree. WHY is it interesting? What do you think about it? WHY do you agree (or disagree)? How is it related to our study of organization and governance in higher education? Interpret and make meaning of the article.
