Final exam: Use the course readings you have done to answer the questions

Instructions

The final exam has 15 questions: 12 short answer and experiential and 2 ‘case study’ questions. There are seven questions that are mandatory (1, 2, 5, 8, 13, 14, and 15). For the remaining questions you will have an option based on the article that you read that week.

  • The final exam is out of 80 points. Questions 1 to 14 are worth 5 points each, question 15 is worth 10 points.
  • Examples can be from your own personal experiences or that of friends, family, media, etc., from an activity or discussion we had in class, or from your journal. Please do not use examples from the articles, unless the question specifies that the example should come from article. Please make sure that your examples clearly connect to the question.
  • Recall the lecture on constructing an argument and the importance of providing data (either quantitative or qualitative, i.e. statistics from the labour market or personal experiences, etc.) to support your arguments.
  • Think about important course concepts that have come up repetitively–you might want to use these in your explanations and/or examples.
  • There is no minimum word count for each response, however you should provide a reasonable response that fully answers each question. Keep in mind that each question is worth five (or ten) points, your response should provide enough to warrant five points. Your answer for the full questionshould not exceed 500 words.
  • You can use this document as template for your responses or provide them in a separate document—you can also single or double space, the format is entirely up to you.
  • Please do not use anyquotes in your answers. All questions are asking for you to put everything in your own words, therefore there is no need for references.
  • Any final submitted with a high percentage of citation conflicts (i.e. improper references, poor paraphrases, plagiarism, etc.) will receive a zero.
