Infant Growth and Development Template

Course Objectives

• apply the knowledge of developmental tasks in promoting the health of individuals across the lifespan.
• compare and contrast typical physical, cognitive, sociocultural, personality, sexual, and ethnic behavior of individuals unique to each stage of the lifespan.
• discuss and apply selected behavioral, personality, and socio-cultural theories in order to understand and influence behavior at various stages of the lifespan (discipline strategies, health education).
• differentiate between normal developmental patterns and deviations from expected developmental patterns from infancy through late adulthood.
• relate strategies for health promotion to stressors that typically occur at various stages of the lifespan.
