Briefly, did you like or dislike the production and why?

Do not create a separate page for your name and title, but rather, follow these directions.

Paragraph # 2

ACTING: 5 points (Label this paragraph “Acting”)

1. Provide an effective analysis of your favorite OR least favorite character (You must provide the name of the character (ONLY one character, favorite or least favorite. Not both.) and you MUST state the character name. Do not email GTA’s or the instructor for this information,     it is your responsibility).

You must include one specific example from the performance that supports your opinion about the character. Failure to include this specific example will result in zero points for this section.

You must label this paragraph, “Acting”. It must comment (as stated above) on the acting of the performer, NOT the actions of the character. Again, this is not commenting on if you feel the actions of the character are “good” or “bad”, but rather, the skills of the performer. Failure to do so will result in zero points for this entire section.

Paragraph # 3

DIRECTING/STAGING, CHOREOGRAPHY & MUSIC:  20 points (label this paragraph “Directing/staging, choreography & Music)

1. Begin your paragraph making one specific comment (this is your opinion) on the director’s choices and support it with one specific example.

2. Then make one specific comment (this is your opinion) on the staging of the production and provide one specific example.

3. Next, within this same paragraph, continue with one specific comment (this is your opinion) about the choreography (movement) and provide one specific example from the production.

4. Finally, you will end this paragraph with one specific comment on the music and then provide one specific example from the show.

Paragraph # 4

COSTUMES AND LIGHTING  10 points (label this paragraph “Costumes & Lighting”)

1. Provide one specific opinion on the costumes and provide one specific example from the production.

2. Provide one specific opinion on the lighting and provide one specific example taken directly from the production.

 Paragraph # 5

SCENERY AND SOUND  10 points (label this paragraph “Scenery & Sound”)

1. Provide one specific comment (your opinion) on the scenery, followed by one specific example from the production.

2. Provide one specific comment on the sound, followed by one specific example.

Paragraph # 6

DISCUSSION OF MEANING, IMPACT, OR LESSON OF THE PRODUCTION  2 points  (Label this paragraph “Meaning & Impact”)

1. State the overall meaning/theme of this production.

2. State what you believe to be the main impact this production could potentially have on an audience.

REQUIRMENTS

The production must be within the same semester that you are taking the course and meet the due date on our schedule (unless otherwise noted).

Include at least one specific example from the production, for each area that you address to support your opinions.

Names of plays are italicized. If you do not Italicize the name of the play, it will be minus five points.

Times New Roman font only (size 12).
