You should work out how you would carry out the study by explaining what subject you would use, what control groups, and how you would do the study. You need to analyze the microbiome in two different body sites. One should always be the gut (gastro-intestinal), and the other body site should be chosen by you as part of the assignment, and this site will differ depending on the situation. In most cases it should be obvious. The grant should be along the following lines: 1. Title (stating the problem) 2. Abstract (short; one or two paragraphs). 3. Background (between a half and one full page, double spaced. 4. Design of the study and overall research plan (about one page), and adequate controls 5. Expected results: You should explain also the expected results and how you would analyze the data 6: Possible conclusions and suggested further studies. The total grant should be 4-5 pages.
