Ms. Williams wants to know what she should do and how she should proceed?

 Your client Ms. Williams has been renting a home for the last 5 years.  She always timely paid her rent and

has been a good tenant.  About two months ago, she has been unable to contact the landlord.  The landlord’s telephone

number has been disconnected.  She also tried contacting him by sending a letter inquiring where she should send the

rent.  But her letter was returned because the landlord moved with no forwarding address.  She has no other contact

information for the landlord.  About three weeks ago, Ms. Williams received a letter from a bank informing her they

foreclosed on the home.  She immediately contacted the bank.  The bank informed Ms. Williams she can stay in the

property for another six months so long as she paid rent to the bank.  Ms. Williams immediately sent a check to the bank for all the rent owed and even paid two months rent in advance.  The bank immediately cashed her checks.

A few days ago, Ms. Williams received court papers.  The bank filed a court action to evict the prior owner, Tom Serta from

the property. Ms. Williams is not named as a Defendant.

Ms. Williams wants to know what she should do and how she should proceed?
