3.       Who is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie?  What is she known for?  What has she done?  What is her background?  Provide 3 points of information about her.

4.       A) Provide 3 examples of what, according to Adichie, restricts women and 3 examples of what restricts men  (6 examples in total). 

B)     Is she missing any gender formation in her analysis?

5.      A) Adichie is speaking generally about women’s and men’s roles in society, but draws many examples from Nigeria.  Provide 3 experiences from her experiences in Nigeria that correlate to another own’s experiences in their home country.

B)  Based on the reading, “Why Intersectionality Can’t Wait,” discuss Adichie’s position in society as a black woman.  (1-2 paragraphs).  The reading is found in the Locating Ourselves – Knowledge & Theory section with the other readings for this section.

     NOTE:  for a question like this, you need to briefly summarize what the article says and then use an example or two from Adichie’s speech to illustrate the points you are drawing from the article.

6.            A) Summarize Adichie’s definition of Feminism (1 good, strong paragraph)

               B) How does her view of feminism contrast with the idea of biological essentialism?

C)     How does Adichie’s talk and the reading “The Egg and The Sperm” support one another? (1-2 paragraphs)
