Nutrition Journal Relection

For this assignment, you will have to write a journal reflection of the two units based on the readings I have listed below. Aim for summarizing key concepts instead of covering all details. Please include in-text citations and references in full (APA format) at the bottom of the reflection

Journal reflections are your identification of the main theme of the readings and interpretation. A quality reflection should also include integrating your experience to the main theme and, how it affects your thinking and practice. Your notes should be consistent with the learning outcomes found at the start of the unit, but also personally relevant to your own interests.  They will also include some personal reflections on how the topic relates to you.

Tips on journal reflections:

First off, there is no right or wrong way to write a concise reflection paper. A journal reflection can be subjective and personal yet have an academic tone to it. Some steps you may find help writing a reflection include:

• Read all the posted readings. The required readings cover the main theme and based on what intrigued your interest, you may choose the recommended readings. It is helpful to read them thoroughly while taking notes on key ideas and concepts. Once your notes are ready, you can summarize the main concepts of your notes. Make sure it includes all the information. The summary you have from the notes can be your introduction- this is the knowledge you have gained from the readings- “After reading this week’s content on (insert topic), I learned….”
• Now that you have a summary, think of some basic questions (as you see fit). You can include very specific lines from readings here to talk about personal experience, how you felt etc.
  • How did the readings affect you?
  • Did the readings change your mind about something? How?
  • Did the readings relate to any personal experience? How?
  • Are there any unanswered questions for you or any critical issues left unaddressed?
• Finally, connect your experiences/insights/opinions back to the main theme of the topic. Use citations to back up your personal opinions
