Vertebrates have an internal skeleton which iincludesa spine made up of vertebrae. The spine protects the dorsal nerve cord (spinal cord) which leads to the brain. There are eight classes of Vertebrates, listed below:

Aves eagles, ducks, pigeons feathers, warm-blooded
Mammalia rats, horses, humans fur, milk- producing, internal egg development, warm-blooded

The classes of vertebrates, Agnatha, Placodermi, Chondrichthyes, and Osteichthyes are considered fish.

Most vertebrate animals are cold-blooded meaning that their bodies can not generate heat. Amphibia, Fish, and Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrate animals.

Warm-blooded animals like birds (Aves) and mammals generate heat throughout their bodies. Birds and mammals also share physical characteristics that place them under the same vertebrate class. Both are covered with fur or feathers and develop eggs inside the mother’s body and sweat to lower body temperature.
