Take one of your first two graded compositions, either the Character Analysis or the Poetry Explication, and write an effective revision/expansion, which should also involve  stylistic compression and other improvements. Could your original graded essay benefit from a sharper (or expanded) focus/thesis/claim? Add more quotations (if needed), more details, more explanation and analysis. Does organization need re-structuring or expansion? While writing on the same topic, make enough changes/additions to justify a new read and an additional grade; in other words, alter and improve the composition on an essential level. Consider adding some research to supplement your interpretation, one to three sources in addition to the story or poem itself (which would involve more source-citing, of course, both in-text and in an expanded Works Cited).
