A deep dive into Disability and Disability Justice Literature

Disability Justice and different models of disability are in academic literature. Disability Justice may be difficult to find among peer reviewed articles because of the emerging framework in academia spaces.

As a future child and youth care practitioner, you will have to practice evidenced informed clinical strategies and use best practices. In this assignment you will seek peer reviewed and lived experience sources. In doing so, you will begin to understand the complexity of disability as a social construct, and as an identity. You will write summaries of the sources you find and include an introduction and conclusion in your assignment.

This assignment also has a focus on APA formatting and aims to support your development in utilizing 7^th edition APA formatting.

In this assignment you will choose an area of interest in disability studies to research. You will research 4 articles and then provide an annotated bibliography of your sources.

1. Select 4 sources
2. 2 sources must be peer reviewed
3. 2 sources must be written by a disabled author, and these can be blogs, online zines, websites, new articles, series of tictocs, series of instagram videos/lives etc.
4. Read and review the four sources
5. Compile the information so that you can organize it as an annotated bibliography

11. Identify and summarize the contents and scope of the source
12. Identify the argument or perspective of the source
