The body of your paper must include an Introduction and information on the pathogenesis, symptoms, and treatments or cures of your chosen disease.  These categories should appear as headers in your paper.  You do NOT need to

 include an Abstract.

• Introduction: The introduction of your paper needs to begin by describing the condition or disease being investigated.  To accomplish this you should develop background information summarizing prior research or important information about the condition/disease including a history of the infectious disease and current statistics on prevalence.
• Pathogenesis: This section of your paper should include the etiology of the condition, but more importantly, the pathogenesis of the condition.  Give detailed, thorough explanations answering the how, when, where, and why the condition causes illness/ infection.  Is the condition caused by a virus, bacteria, protozoan, fungus, etc.?  Explain the pathogenesis and biochemistry (genetic nature of viruses) of how the pathogen causes disease and the specific location.  This is when you talk about virulence factors, general nature of the organism (gram staining, cell shape/grouping, etc.), and life cycles.
• Symptoms: Give specific symptoms associated with the condition/diseases.  Also provide thorough explanations of how these symptoms arise (this should tie back to pathogenesis). It is unacceptable to present a list of symptoms and treatments for a disease.  It is not enough to say a disease is an autoimmune disease.  Explain how the components of the immune system interact with the cells and tissues at issue is what counts.  Describe how the disease is diagnosed and distinguished from other similar diseases.
  
• Treatments & Cures: Here you should discuss all possible preventions (i.e. vaccines) and treatments (i.e. medications) of the condition/disease including supportive treatments for alleviating symptoms (i.e. medications, ORT, cold compress, etc).
