Writing a Reflective Paper
To reflect is to think back on something, to step back in time and to critically engage and relive a moment, event, or series of happenings. The next step is to critically analyze what effect this event had on your thoughts, what knowledge was gained, and what change(s) were taken as a result of this event/experience.
Although a reflection paper is not a formal research paper, it should have a coherent or organized structure. Your reflection is not a summary of the preparatory work. The Ignatian Pedagogy Framework to be used for this assignment provides an organized approach to assist with achieving a robust, in depth reflection. The following questions may assist and enhance your thinking as you complete the preparatory materials:
What insights have you gained from the preparatory work?
What areas of discomfort were generated based on the preparatory work?
What personal and professional experiences have you had that provide meaning as you prepare for this reflective assignment?
Did the assignment make you question or think about something else?
What questions were you left with after completion the preparatory work for the assignment?

There is no page length requirement for this paper, with the average body of paper two pages. The introduction, body of the paper with the designated sections and conclusion should be separated using Levels of Heading i.e. 1, 2, and/or 3 per APA 7th edition.
The paper should include a title page (page 1); no abstract is needed; 2) an introduction (4-6 sentences minimum) with a purpose statement; 3) the body of the paper which includes: the main sections of the reflective paper context, experience, reflection, action and evaluation. The conclusion section should be a summary of paper with no new material or citations. References may be appropriate based on your reflections.
