Memories are not very accurate until after age 3, and then they are susceptible to suggestions. Preschoolers have difficulty describing certain information and tend to oversimplify recollections. If given the opportunity to teach a class of preschoolers (keep in mind their level of attention and energy), find and post in your initial response a poem that you might teach them and answer these questions: can preschoolers “learn” to remember? What strategies might parents or preschool teachers employ to facilitate children’s memory?
