Mini-assignments are brief essays that will evaluate your ability to understand and apply the concepts discussed in the course. Assignment should be a minimum of two pages, double-spaced. The writing should be in proper APA format. If you are using sources for your information, references should be listed in APA format as well. You can review the rubrics in the content area. Late assignments will result in a deduction of half a grade initially, and an additional half a grade loss every three days the assignment is late. No assignments will be accepted after the end of classes. If you anticipate a problem, contact me in advance.

Pick ONE of the following three topics to write on:

 1.   What are the dominant myths about immigrants?

2.   Define and provide an example of each of the following patterns of racial and ethnic group interaction: genocide, expulsion, colonialism, segregation, acculturation, pluralism, and assimilation. Use a different example from the Powerpoint or book.

3.   Summarize the three arguments described in your text that explain the gender gap in income.  Then explain which one you agree with most and why.
