Read the ASTM standard ASTM E8/8M – 16a on Canvas and use AutoCAD or Solidworks to design 2 types of standard-tensile-test specimens: one rectangular (Fig 1) and one round (Fig 8). You may choose which size standard specimen to draw. The round specimen should have end type 3 in Figure 9 for simplicity. The drawing should include 3D view, projected views, dimensions, and the name of the specimen (plate-type, sheet-type, subsize, specimen 1, etc.) as defined in the standard.
