a causal analysis thesis

Let’s face it, technology is not only a convenience, but it’s also a major distraction. Most people rely on their phones and computers for everything! I will be writting about how the usage of social network platforms has transformed our social interactions with each other; particularly on how it has changed during, and after, the Covid-19 outbreak, . Everyone during the time of the virus was encouraged to rely on technology for their interactions, such as the use of different applications like zoom. I will also be discussing how computers can influence addiction and mental illnesses, which can then interfere with relationships/friendships.
What are some possible solutions to the problem?
Implementing resources throughout schools and workplaces, so that information about mental health can be better exposed and accessible.
Mental health screenings at schools/workplaces (many people don’t realize their depressed).
Guide our children to become more engaged in social interactions, by setting limits on phones/computers, and encouraging them to participate in physical activities.
Who will be the audience that has the power to implement the solution you are most interested in writing about?
Parents, employers, and the School Board of Education.
How will you use ethos, pathos, and logos to build your argument?
Ethos:
I can write about a specific experience that I had with technology to further support my statement.
Pathos:
Incorporating other people’s experiences into my paper, to explain the different types of struggles/emotions that can derive from social media.
Logos:
This will be used most throughout my paper. I can use a variety of logic appeals to form my thesis, while also applying evidence from sources; such as graphs or charts to back up my argument.
What research will you need to support your opinion or provide examples?
I can use data to contrast social engagement vs. virtual engagement. Why is social interaction a better way of connecting? What are some of the negative outcomes that can only arise from virtual communication? I plan on using sources such as academic journals, scientific research, and articles to back up my argument.

Purpose
To write a causal analysis that identifes the causes of something related to your final proposal paper or the effect from something related to the issue you want to see solved in your final proposal paper.

Assignment
Consider the topic you will be using to write your proposal paper later in the term. Use this to identify some casual chain to write about in this paper.
You need to identify the causes of something or the effect from something.
Your essay will need to be between 1200-1500 words; MLA format. You will need additional research for this essay: at least 4 sources (no more than 6), 2 of which need to be scholarly sources from the library databases. Make sure you present your causal claim/thesis near the beginning of your essay, usually toward the end of your introductory paragraph.
You will need to decide on an approach which you can support using evidence. If needed, please refer to the readings about causal analysis in earlier modules. As you develop your claim, consider the audience’s potential objections to your claim and account for them in your discussion. Don’t forget about establishing an ethos that helps you gain credibility with your audience. Also, be careful about potential logical fallacies.
