Cells Assignment

For this week’s assignment, you will write an original story about cell transcription and translation.  

Your story should contain analogies for all of the important components of both processes including the following: 

1. DNA

2. 3-base sequence on DNA

3. Messenger RNA

4. 3-base sequence on RNA

5. Ribosome

6. Transfer RNA

7. Codons and Anticodons

8. Amino acids

You will need to explain how the various parts or characters relate to transcription and translation. 

Here is an example of a story about diffusion. 

Jane loved parties and Jan’s party was the best she had been to in many years. There were lots of Jan and Jane’s friends stuffed into Jan’s small apartment. As the guests continued to arrive and enter the living room, the room become so crowded and noisy, Jane began to feel she needed more space so she entered the kitchen where there were much less people. The other guests must have had similar thoughts and they also began entering the kitchen until there were about the same number of guests in the living room and kitchen. This process is similar to diffusion in that people moved from where there are more people to where there are less until reaching equilibrium whereby there were the same number of people in each room.
