Storytelling Project- Final Story Draft

Objective/Goal:

This is the third in a series of assignments to complete your storytelling project. Now that you’ve received feedback on your first draft, it’s time to create the final draft of your story before moving on to your final video. Don’t forget about the samples we talked about in week 3

Hint: Notice the theme in the video below at the beginning and end. 

• Due Module 3 – Story Circle Discussion – brainstorm ideas for your story
• Due Module 4 – First draft of your story-written script
• Due Module 8 – Final draft of your story-video
• Due Module 12 – Rough cut of your project-video
• Due Module 15 – Final cut of your project-video

Instructions:

For this version, I want you to get comfortable speaking on camera, so all you have to do is tell your educational journey story. Do not worry about visuals such as photos or PowerPoint or music yet. Do not even worry much about editing. Just try reading your story on camera in a similar way to giving a speech. Make sure you pause and make some eye contact with the camera once in a while.  The video should be 1-3 minutes. If it is longer than this, you may need to simplify some details in your story. Try to think about what the overall theme is like perseverance, change, family, etc. 

Please use Canvas Studio to record your video. There are instructions here: 

For your final video, you can use other software, but for this assignment, I would like you to use Canvas studio only.

Learning and growth take practice and reflection and I am here to support your efforts. All assignments in this course will be marked as either Complete (all rubric criteria are met) or Incomplete (not quite there yet, review my feedback, revise your work, and resubmit your assignment.
