 Voters look for characteristics such as experience, honesty, morality, compassion, competence, and leadership abilities when voting for a president. Yes, I do think voters chose those characteristics based on socioeconomic and political environment. Voters often make decisions based on how the candidate will be better able to better their current situation or environment. They are also listening to key information that pertain to them. For example, someone looking for a candidate to raise minimum wage to help them will their financial problems will look for a candidate offering to raise the wage. Voters are also looking for someone that relates to their current living situations, they’re looking to the candidate to offer a solution.Voters are also looking at the candidates political background when making a decision on who to vote. They’re looking for a candidate that is capable of combating issues concerning the society such as healthcare, student debt, unemployment, and economic downturn.

Should folks select candidates to vote for based on integrity, loyalty, honesty, trustworthiness,  etc. … based on whether they are good people?  If so, how do you tell if a candidate is a good person?  

To what extent do people actually choose Presidents, Governors, Senators, etc. based on their assessment of a candidate’s character, etc.?
