Back, shoulder, and neck pain can result if you sit too far away from your desk and are constantly reaching or leaning forward to perform tasks. Excessive clutter under a desk can cause you to sit too far away from your desk and also cause back, shoulder, and neck pain. The nerves and blood vessels in your wrists and arms can be negatively affected by the hard surfaces and corners of office desks if you frequently rest your wrists or forearms on the desk.
