Over the past few weeks, you have assessed the health status of a population, and have identified at least one priority health issue within that population. This week, you watched videos and read articles that highlighted the need to engage community members to support meaningful involvement and leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to improve the health of the community and to eliminate racial and ethnic inequities in health.

Hint: This may take some researching on your part–make a few phone calls, contact your discharge planner/social work department at your hospital, talk to someone at the community’s United Way offices or County Health Department. Then, contact the organizations themselves to learn about their programs/services, and how they are organized in partnerships in the community to achieve their common goals.
