Any topic (It can be on anything I need ideas and help and summit my Idea)

I was thinking something about how ADAD can effect an individual

it is six pages long not including the works cited pages at the end the style is MLA the paper needs to have at least 4 outside sources. At least half of the sources you use need to be non internet include a visual aid such as a picture, graphhic, table, chart, etc I can copy and paste if you like on what exactly is needed

Review your assignment instructions for both the proposal and the paper itself. Remember, even though the proposal is an informal assignment, continue using MLA formatting. If you need a refresher, check back to the Unit 1 reading. Note: the Compare and Contrast essay and the Research Proposal are due on the same day, but they are not related assignments. They should not be about the same topic.

Start by choosing a topic. This can be fairly broad right now, but it helps to think of a few points you might be able to discuss about this topic. If you have an idea for your thesis statement, you can include it. You’ll also need to include your research plan. For this, think of what terms you might search for to find information about your topic. Where will you look? If you’re writing about wildlife in your state, for example, you might look at your state’s DNR website, or check the library database for journal articles on ecosystems or biodiversity in your region.

The research paper itself will need to be six pages long, with a visual aid no bigger than a half page, and four outside sources. (Outside sources are anything outside your own knowledge or creativity.) At least two of these need to be non-internet, which means they should come from books or academic sources like journals and not a Google search. These are easily found on the library’s database.

I recommend doing a little research before submitting your proposal. This will help you get an idea for how much information is out there on your topic, and see what other writers have to say about it.

When researching, start with the library website (Links to an external site.). Below the search bar, you’ll see options that say “Limit your results: full-text, peer reviewed.” Be sure to check both those boxes. This will limit the results you find to complete articles, reviewed by other scholars to ensure the research is credible. Only use sources from the past ten years, as research can and does change often. You can also use Google Scholar (Links to an external site.) to conduct similar searches, but it sometimes finds results you may not be able to access. Remember, you should never have to pay to access scholarly research. It should be available to you free using your EGCC account. If you’re having trouble accessing a source you want to use, let me know.

Above all: don’t wait until the last minute to get started. This project is a lot bigger than what we’ve worked on before, and it can take longer than it seems like it might. Try to break the project down into smaller tasks instead of tackling it all at once.

As always, let me know if you have questions about either the proposal or the paper itself.
