Task 1: Federal EEO Laws and Regulations Paper

Weighting: 10%

Description: Review Chapter 3 and Appendix C (pages 609-610) in the Mathis text. An Act will be assigned to each student for research. Students will write a five (5) page research paper that (a) defines the Act in detail, (b) provides a detailed history of the Act including any significant events that contributed to its passing, (c) presents, in detail, at least two recent cases where the Act played a role in a specific legal case, and (d) properly cites at least 5 sources on a reference page.

Students are to submit the paper via Turnitin and adhere to APA formatting (double spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1” margins, title page, page numbers, and running headers). A title page and a reference page are required and does not count toward the five (5) page requirement.

The submissions MUST reflect critical thought and professional writing. Points will be deducted for every instance in which there are (1) failures to fully support a position, (2) spelling and grammatical errors, (3) failures to fully address each question, (4) failures to properly use APA formatting, (4) failures to prepare content that is relevant, and (5) failures to organize content and frame arguments in a manner that is logical, comprehendible, and compelling.
