Description
The second major writing assignment for this semester will be a classic academic twosource argument. The Two-Source Argument requires you to put forward a thesis-like claim that you then defend using direct evidence from both a shared text (one of Jia Tolentino’s essays from her collection Trick Mirror) and a scholarly article that you will find on your own. This project will have three parts: A Proposed Thesis Statement, Introduction, and Source (due before class Thursday, 3/18); a Rough Draft (due before class Thursday, 3/25), and a Final Draft (due electronically via “Paper Submissions” in Blackboard on Tuesday, 4/6 by the end of the day). You will have the option of centering your argument on one of three general themes: Technology, Self-Delusion, or Human Connection.
