Must have pictures and graphs with descriptions that support why my agency should be saved.  You will deliver a 5 minute presentation to the President (me!) and her advisors (the rest of the class) pleading your case for continued funding for your agency. As part of your presentation, you are also responsible for creating an executive summary (written report) which should include the following listed below: Some things to include in your executive summary ● When it was founded and why? What department is above it? ● How it developed over the years – the highs and lows ● It’s Function and Purpose – What is its Strategic Plan, Mission Statement ● How much funding has it received in the past fiscal year? ● How many employees does it have? What does its organizational chart look like ● Who is in charge of this department or agency? Some things to include as to why your agency should be saved (both presentation and executive summary) ● It’s Importance and overall effectiveness – This can be done by ○ looking at current expenditure, past expenditure (growth over time), ○ What policies have been implemented and showcasing the one or two recent policies that have been the most effective ○ Showcasing the impact and importance to the people/ nation or even the executive branch as a whole. ● The GAO will help finding ratings and overall effectiveness of initiatives, programs and policies.
