1. Write a review of Wole Soyinka’s Death and the King’s Horseman that analyzes the significance of race/culture, gender, and class in the social relevance of the play. In preparing your analysis, agree or disagree with a previously written critique of Death and the King’s Horseman from which you provide one quote as well. What is your view of why the protagonist failed his mission? Should this type of tradition be permitted to exist among people in today’s world? In conclusion, draw a parallel between Soyinka’s play and any other text we have examined this semester.
