For the Final I want you to pick any topic from later California history (1850 forward) that is of particular interest to you and to write a 3 page essay on that topic. This does not have to be an investigative or research paper, you can just summarize the main themes/or ideas of your topic. You can use any resources at all-the book, your notes, online resources but you need to use your own words to get credit! You will be turning it in thorugh Turnitin which checks for plagiarism, so please summarize but use your own words.

Some sample topics could be the transition from rule of Mexico to the United States, the building of the trans-continental railroad in California, early labor movements in California, the development of agriculture in California, the beginnings of the aviation industry in California, the beginnings of the film industry, any of the many key technological developments that occurred here locally, any key historical figures, or anything else relating to California history.
