The legislature has decided to create a parental criminal responsibility statute. You have been tasked with drafting the criminal statute addressing the criminal responsibility of parents for the acts of their children.

Please think through what you know about the elements of the crime. What elements should there be in your statute? Please draft a criminal statute holding parents responsible for the criminal acts of their children. Create limitations on the parents’ responsibility as you see fit. Please draft a statute even if you don’t believe that one is a good idea. Include a statement of what your goals were with the statute you drafted, and explain how the statute is intended to meet those goals. Statute and goals should be a minimum of one page, double-spaced.
